Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified EMDR Therapist & Consultant, Board Certified in Neurofeedback (BCN)

Chris Wheeler Doe, M.A., LMFT, BCN

I enjoy working with individuals and couples who have experienced developmental trauma and/or complex PTSD, including people in recovery from codependency and substance abuse.

My goal is to offer a safe and supportive environment where clients can begin to explore what the problem really is and move towards "letting go of the painful baggage" that has burdened them for years.

I do this by helping them to find new paths to stabilization, increased awareness of self/others, and emotional healing through the use of multiple modalities, such as Neurofeedback, EMDR Psychotherapy, Deep Brain Reorienting, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Mindfulness Practices, Mind-Body Awareness, Spirituality/Faith and the 12 Steps.

My number one goal is to create a safe and non-judgemental space for clients from all backgrounds to explore current challenges and gain insight into themselves. I take a trauma-informed and collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside clients throughout the therapeutic process.

I aim to help clients come to their own conclusions and decisions through curiosity and insight-oriented questions. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on clients' individual preferences and needs including EMDR, Neurofeedback, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and parts work.

I specialize in trauma and sexuality, and enjoy working with teens and adults, the LGBTQ+ community, and clients in alternative relationship styles. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Minnesota and a certified sex therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. I am trained in EMDR levels 1 and 2, Neurofeedback, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy level 1, and Internal Family Systems level 1.
